The press on Christopher Douglas in Ed Reardon…:
- “The piece combines the richly crafted writing that makes the series such a joy” Dominic Cavendish, The Telegraph
- “Douglas shows that he can breathe life in the character of Reardon, both on stage as well as over the airwaves” Angela Browne, British Theatre Guide
- “A sharp and polished production…Packed with funny and intelligent lines…this literary satire fizzes with wit from start to finish” – Samuel Johnston, Three Weeks
- “…witty and well observed sketches…” – 4 STARS, Ben Douglas, one4review
- “While the Pleasance Courtyard is awash with spunky young comics looking toward glittering careers on stage and screen, further back you’ll find Ed Reardon, resplendent in make-no-effort loungewear and pondering a glittering past that might have been…Christopher Douglas’s creation is a sort of thinking-man’s Al Murray…Can the young bucks compete with that? Can they buggery.” – 4 STARS – Si Hawkins, British Comedy Guide
- “The nation’s favourite failed author and master of the abusive email…fast becoming a national institution, Douglas is completely in touch with his alter ego. In fact it’s hard to believe that this isn’t a real Ed Reardon such is the credibility of his bitter rants…with writing astute enough to allow the younger generation to see themselves as Reardon sees them and those closer in age and spirit to empathise with his position. All of which should endear him to his already broad fan base as well as help him to introduce new ones, like myself, to the fold.” – Tim Wilcock, Fringe Review
